Pattaya, Thailand - Ministry and Outreach Missions Team

October 29th - Nov 6th. 2011
For this missions trip there is the opportunity for you to join a small team for 7 days. We will be concentrating on the city of Pattaya as this is where God has led this mission’s ministry to establish a Rescue Home for little girls rescued from child trafficking.  This city is in such desperate need of the love of Christ!

Thailand is a country of breathtaking natural beauty and menacing darkness. Innumerable young girls are sold into prostitution each year, while practically 5 million more children have been forced into labor. Oppressive occult customs and practices, propagating crime syndicates, and expanding drug networks have caused many of Thailand's 62 million people to lose hope.  Evangelism is a major focus of this trip to Pattaya, and consequently, there are various opportunities to reach people with the love of God through outreach such as street-witnessing, working with girls who have been victimized by the sex-industry, slum ministry, just to name a few.

Outreach:

  • Slum ministry - Our team will be joining a local ministry that ministers in the slum areas in the city. These children are desperate for a hug, a smile, the love of God. This is a very high risk area for trafficking of children. You will join us in reaching out and connecting with these hurting children and families.
  • Bar ministry outreach- Pattaya is the number one destination in Thailand for trafficking of women and girls. In our bar outreaches, our team will enter into the bars on the walking streets and sit down and minister to the prostitutes in the bars. This opens the doors for the girls to get out of trafficking and transitions them into a Christian ministry that we have partnered with in Pattaya.
  • Children's Drop-in Center - We have partnered with a local children's center that operates right in the center of the area known for pedophiles and child trafficking. This center operates as a night-time drop in center for the children of the bar girls and street children. Our teams connect with this center and help provide a safe haven for the kids! It is also under some construction right now, so we may be able to offer a little elbow grease!
This is your chance to make a difference in the lives of the people and children in Thailand.  Join this Missions Trip to Thailand today!   For information regarding this Thailand missions trip or other missions opportunities please contact us.

The Ultimate Youth Missions Promoting Cultural, Social, Spiritual and Educational Growth

Mission trips are no longer limited to Christian neighborhoods only. Since the travel options are aplenty, anyone with a fascination to serve his or her neighborhood or overseas can do so by taking Christian mission trips easily. Due to improved worldwide communication and discount youth or group missions travel cost, increasingly more number of youth sharing a common faith tend to be stepping forward to give a helping hand to socially ostracized or needy people. These youth with a mission usually consider extensive outings and market quality teen missions adventure services in various countries which enhance interpersonal, cultural and educational growth. Thus youth missions are perfect for those seeking a special connection with fellow missionaries and people of a different culture, as well as to broaden their work worldwide and encounters through their journeys.

Youth mission trips can last from the single day to several months as well as cater to a myriad of needs and preferences whatever the size of the actual teen's group. To assist the less fortunate and sharing the love of the Lord are the main objectives associated with such trips. The first timers in youth missions can promote the help of local people and churches to share the focused mission's trip to have God's benefits and blessings in everything they do to serve socially unreachable individuals.

Youth Quests is definitely an international missions trip specialist arranging national as well as overseas long term and short term mission trips for teens, mission trips for college students, religious leaders, families, groups and youth. A Florida Pastor States He Would Publicly Burn The Quran - Is that a Christian Act?

Today was the day this pastor was to burn the Quran.  After many news reports on the web, TV and in print regarding this intent the following news report came out on Yahoo News:  "NEW YORK – A Florida pastor says his church will "not today, not ever" burn a Quran, even if a mosque is built near ground zero.
Pastor ***** ***** had threatened to burn the Muslim holy book on the anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks over plans to build an Islamic center near where terrorists brought down the World Trade Center nine years ago.
He flew to New York and appeared on NBC's "Today" show. He says that his Gainesville, Fla., church's goal was "to expose that there is an element of Islam that is very dangerous and very radical."
He tells NBC that "we have definitely accomplished that mission." He says no meeting is planned with the imam leading the center but he hopes one will take place.
A "Burn a Koran Day" banner outside his church has been taken down."
(Copied from: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/quran_burning)

I have been very concerned over this news regarding these statements and actions.  I have been concerned for our missionaries and indigenous pastor who are laboring in harms way and the needless risk that has been placed upon them.  I know I have been praying that this would not happen, but I wanted your opinions on what you think is right?  What do you think is Christian behavior?  And I also wanted to ask you to pray for us as a nation, the Christian missionaries or even people taking short term mission trips, which are diligently working to share the Love of Christ to a lost and dying world.

Before you answer lets look a few scripture from the Word of God in light of a Christian.  The word Christian means to be like Christ.  (Wikipedia states: The Greek word Χριστιανός (christianos) -meaning "follower of Christ")
(Heb 12:14) Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
Gal 5:19-26 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.  And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.  If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.  Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.
Mat. 5:9  Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
John 3:16-17  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
Mar 12:30  And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
Mar 12:31  And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
1Jn 4:18  There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
1Jn 4:19  We love him, because he first loved us.
1Jn 4:20  If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?
Jesus condemned religious intolerance.  When He and His disciples entered a Samaritan village, and the Samaritans were less than hospitable, James and John told Jesus they wanted to call down fire from heaven on the whole place (see Luke 9:54).  Jesus flatly rebuked them, saying "You do not know what kind of spirit you are of; for the Son of Man did not come to destroy men’s lives, but to save them." (v.55-56, NASB).

God is Love!  What is love?  What is the opposite of love?  Many people would say hatred, but it's really selfishness.  Hatred comes from the root of selfishness.
Now I ask you these questions:
Was this act out of love or selfishness?
Do you think this mans actions and words promote peace, love and joy?
Do you think this mans actions and words will draw the lost to Christ or drive them away?
Do you think these actions and words promote peace or discord?
Do you think these actions and words endanger unnecessarily the lives of our missionaries on the mission fields?
This pastor was saying, just a day or two previously even though much of the churches congregation leaving the church, that he was going to go on with this and burn the Quran no matter what and today stating that "his church will "not today, not ever" burn a Quran, even if a mosque is built near ground zero"… and says that his Gainesville, Fla., church's goal was "to expose that there is an element of Islam that is very dangerous and very radical."  I ask you what is it when someone states one thing, then says that he was not going to do it?
Is this the behavior of someone who is to be Christ-like?

What does the book of wisdom, Proverbs, say about someone who stirs up strife and contention?

Let’s pray that there will some confession of wrong and asking for forgiveness instead saying that he never intended to do this act.

Let’s pray that the people of the world who are lost will see the love of Christ in us who really are Christians and know that everyone calling themselves a Christian may not be Christians.

To conclude let us take these scriptures to heart and live them: 1Jn 4:7-8  Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.  He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

Piura and Cuidad Noe, Peru Medical Mission Trip

This is your chance to make a difference in the lives of the Peruvian people!

Peru ranks amongst the world's amazing centers of historic civilization. They continue to fascinate travelers and archaeologists alike. Peru can be found in the west central section of South America and is particularly a nation of geographical and cultural contrast. Peru is the 19th largest nation on the planet and is bordered north by Ecuador, to the south by Chile and Bolivia, towards the east by Columbia and Brazil and also to the west with the Pacific Ocean. Peru is a unique country as a result of the climatic, natural and cultural difference of its regions, which consist of coast, sierra and jungle.

Peru is populated by over 23 million people, largely descendents of Spanish settlers as well as native Inca and pre-Inca civilizations. Currently there are three national languages: Spanish, and the native Quechua and Aymara, reflecting the native Indian and Spanish origins which cultivate modern Peruvian society.

The main purposes of this mission trip is medical missions and work on a local construction project. You will have many chances to evangelize among the local people and youth of the community.  Throughout your stay in Piura you will have the opportunity to be a blessing to many by the work project you will be completing or the medical missions outreach in Cuidad Noe (City of Noah). You will come in contact with many children at our hosts training school and church. You may also have the privilege of evangelizing in the nearby villages, bringing hope to the lost as well as being an encouragement for many others.  There will be countless opportunities for ministry and spiritual mentoring in your leisure times and social activities.

Go here for more information on this Peru Medical Missions Trip that is starting on Jan. 3rd of 2011 or to find out more about planning a Group Mission Trips go to Youth Quests International

What exactly is a Short Term Mission Trip? Part 4 of 4

Have you at any time thought that you simply dreamed of being a part of something good and wonderful, yet had not been certain just how “the pieces of the puzzle” joined together? Often times that's the feeling any time choosing to get involved with a mission trip. However you may well be not sure on exactly how it all works. We hope this will be able to answer some questions you may have.

What If I Want to Go but I Can not Afford It?

Spending about two weeks in another country is usually not going to come cheap. But if God desires you to be there, then He will provide to get you there.

Pray about what God would like you to do, as well as where He desires you to go. Several people that have full-time jobs would love to take these opportunities and can also afford to do so, yet simply cannot spare the time, or perhaps cannot go since they have children or even some other restrictions. So if you genuinely wish to go, and cannot have the funds to go yourself, raise the money. We make an effort to provide fund raising tips and opportunities for each short term trip.

So what's Coming Up?
The following short-term trips are currently planned. Click on a link below for more details:

What exactly is a Short Term Mission Trip? Part 3 of 4

What Are the Benefits of Going on a Short-term Mission Trip?

It's ideal for your own personal spiritual life plus its amazing to observe God moving in another area and culture. Frequently whenever team members come back from their short term trip, they are really considerably more enthusiastic and passionate about living their faith out at home. Because their own eyes really are opened to God’s work around the world, the way they pray transforms. They become much more effective in their own personal community as well as church and they also obtain a broader vision for what God has the ability to do. Simply speaking, God becomes even bigger in our own eyes as we step out on a short term mission trip.

Do I Have to Be a Super Christian to Go?

No, actually all Christian believers ought to consider themselves as missionaries with regards to their mission field being their own neighborhood, or even their place of work, or perhaps their particular sports team. You do not have to be a super Christian, however you'll have to possess the right mental attitude towards God.  Follow the mission statement of the Lord Jesus, "For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost." Luke 19:10

What exactly are Short Term Mission Trips?
A short term mission trip is commonly seven to two weeks in duration, however it may be longer, with individuals travelling to minister within a culture different from their own. The main focus of most of these trips should be to serve the group of people being visited, and probably do consist of evangelism, teaching, prayer, construction, or a mixture of these activities. It's an chance to share a person's gifts and talents with others and to receive from those of a different culture. Paul’s words for the Romans sums up the heart beat of short term missions when he writes that he strongly desires to see them in order that he “may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong—that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith.” (Romans 1:11-12)

Christian News from Bhutan, Testimonies and Prayer Requests

I am very happy and very thankful to bring you some news from Bhutan, a country closed to the gospel of Jesus Christ and to most outside influence.  Also I wanted to direct you to a few prayer requests from a pastor in this country.

  • Here is a testimony from a seventy-eight year old man who lives in one of the most isolated part of Bhutan.  He has a wife of seventy and has eight children, twenty-two grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.  He was born as Hindu, grew up as a worshiper of dead spirits of ancestors.
In 2008, the pastor in this area met this Bhutanese man and shared the gospel.  He was astonished to hear about Jesus.  He accepted Christ as his personal Savior and Lord.  Today, he worships the living God along with his entire converted family members.  Despite threats from the local government, the Sunday worship is conducted at his house each Sunday.
  • Here is another testimony of a local Hindu religious priest.  He had been successful in influencing he entire village to a sect of Hinduism.  The pastor met him in 2009 and shared about Jesus Christ.  He gave up his religion and accepted Christ as his Savior.  He, now serves as a preacher and pastor of a local church.

To pray for these people and the pastor’s urgent prayer request for his family click on this prayer request link: Missions Prayer Focus: Bhutan Pastor and His Wife In Need of Your Prayers

Southwest Haiti Misson Trips Near Les Cayes Are Available! ...

Youth Quests International - Haiti Updates
Sharing the blessings of your help in supporting this ministry and the missionaries who
went out this year.

The Haitian projects Youth Quests International is involved with, along with your support, have current needs and prayer requests.  We wanted to share with you the future plans for these projects in this area, as well as, what has been accomplished through your assistance and prayers.

The previous team had worked on some crucial improvements for the teams who will be doing follow up work on several projects. They were involved in ministry to the local people as well. The Haiti missions team that arrived in the village near Torbeck on July 18th greatly appreciated all the preparation done for them. This second team worked on building the poultry business that will be the first step for a sustainable agriculture project for this ministry.

Additionally, both teams conducted some special programs with biblical teaching for the children and teens of the area, evangelized and held special services in the evenings.  The second team had the privilege of showing the Jesus Film in Creole and handing out tracts to the local people wherever they went.  With your help, YQI bought a generator for the ministry that was a great benefit for the cooks, the church with their evening services, the housing for the teams and, of course the Jesus Film presentations in the evenings.

Project Updates and Prayer Requests
Will you pray about the following needs? The dollar amounts mentioned are still needed for the projects.)
For donations go to: Youth Quests' Hope For Haiti

Water Well
While working there, we were able to talk with some government officials about drilling a well in preparation for the orphanage we are planning on building.  Even though they said that they only drill on government or public lands, they agreed to drill the well for a very reasonable $2000.00.  We are praising the Lord for this opportunity to obtain a good source of water for the orphanage and ministry.  Pray for the project to progress, continued cooperation, the doors to stay open and the much needed funds.

Poultry Business
The aim of this business is to support and assist the pastors to be more self-sustaining in working with the local people, as well as,  generating income for the operation of the orphanage.  As of right now, we are currently $2000 short on funds to get this poultry business fully up and running complete with facilities, equipment, feed and chicks.

Improvements To Homes
The crucial improvements included cleaning cement rubble out of a house that will be used to house teams when they come to work in this area and hand digging a well for clean water.  We are blessed to be able to use this home when we bring teams to this small village area.

Materials were bought for a special project to help out a Pastor, his family and a couple of orphans that will be living with him.  With your help, YQI bought the tin roofing to cover the half of the house where they lived that didn’t have a roof on it.  This roof was put up in time for the rainy season and is a greatly appreciated addition.

Orphanage Projection
We are currently in contact with a Christian man who has been building several homes in Haiti in cooperation with the Haitian government.  He has agreed to build the Haitian orphanage in this area employing local people and using good materials for the low cost of $15 per square foot!  Our goal is to start with a 2000 square foot facility that would only cost $30,000; then with the water available, the orphanage would be in a good position to be a blessing to many in that area.

Adoption in Progress
The orphans need hope and a future; currently it is our
opportunity to help an orphan girl be adopted into a Christian family in the USA.  The lawyers in the country have been working on the adoption. The family needs  another $3,000.00 to complete the adoption process.

Thank you so much for your interest in missions and the
assistance you have already given.  May the Lord richly bless you!

How To Get Involved!
You can get involved with Haiti short-term mission trips, work / humanitarian aid and evangelism teams by:

Haiti mission trip teams will fly to Port-Au-Prince, spend a short time in PAP then travel to the project area in Southwestern Haiti near Les Cayes. You will be working on various humanitarian aid projects throughout your stay including agriculture transformation, sustainable agriculture projects and improvements, evangelism and Biblical teaching to a group of youth and adults hungry for the Word. You will also have the privilege of evangelizing in the nearby areas around the village, bringing hope to the lost and being an encouragement for many others. There will be countless opportunities for ministry and spiritual mentoring in your leisure times and social activities.

What is a Church Missions Trip? What are the benefits for Church Mission Trips?

Short Term Mission Trips are exciting ways to get your Church Group involved and help people all over the world while experiencing a new culture while helping the missionaries on the mission field.  People from many age groups join together for a common goal on short term mission trips getting up close and personal with what God is doing around the world.  It's so awakening to go on short term mission trips because it sparks a passion for missions and giving.  What was Jesus’ mission statement? (Luke 19:10"For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost."   This is the very heart of missions.)  Many times the criticism against short term mission trips sounds so righteous and sanctimonious and yet it fails the test of judging the servant or service of another.  If you want to know the effectiveness of short term mission trips, check out I & II Thessalonians in the New Testament.

Some denominations have missions programs that will allow you to do a short-term mission program.  Many of the larger churches have short-term programs that will allow you to "try on" missions.  Meanwhile many church pastors and leaders are very busy ministering and feeding their congregation and their needs.  That is where an organization dedicated to church mission trips would greatly benefit the leadership of the church by working out all the time consuming details for your group.

Our Vision is to serve as a launching pad for churches and youth groups to send their people to be trained and sent out on short term mission trips around the world, fulfilling the great commission.  Church group mission trips are the best way to get your feet wet in international, world missions and the team members will feel like family by the end of the mission trip.  All of our short term missions trips, mission internships, missions training, and medical mission trips that we specifically promote are focused on this goal of taking the love of Christ to the unreached people groups of the world.

We would love for you to be a part of our mission's vision by joining in on a Christian mission trip or internship, by faithfully praying for the ministries and the people internationally, by adopting an unreached people group, or by helping to financially support missions work, send an individual on a youth mission trip or support for a youth group mission trip, supporting international missionaries.

For more information on Mission Trips for Church Groups please contact Youth Quests International.
